Collaboration with Lion ElectricQuébec Government Office in Chicago Monday, September 27, 2021 to Thursday, October 7, 2021
The Québec Government Office in Chicago is proud to highlight the collaborative work that we have done with Québec-based company Lion Electric! On September 27th, we participated in their “Electric School Bus” event in Plainfield, IL, and enjoyed a ride on one of their electric school buses. This was part of Lion’s tour across the US to highlight the benefits of their vehicle technology in hopes of increasing business opportunities, which included stops in Oxford, MS, and North Baltimore, OH, to name a few.
Additionally, we organized a luncheon between the company and the Institute of Sustainability and Energy at Northwestern University on October 7th for them to discuss their innovative technology and the future of electric fleets. We would like to thank Dr. Holly Benz, Bret Johnson, and Northwestern University for making this informative and enjoyable event a reality!
Thanks to their vehicles, Lion Electric is actively promoting the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, highlighting once again that Québec is a global leader in the electrification of transports. We look forward to further collaborating with them in our collective goal of realizing a fully renewable future, and we are proud to provide our expertise and resources to better help their integration in the Midwest.
More About Lion Electric
After recently striking a deal to manufacture a 900,000 square foot facility in Joliet, Illinois, Lion Electric’s facility will soon be North America’s largest dedicated production site for zero-emission medium and heavy-duty vehicles, such as school buses, trucks, and transit fleets. Over the next three years, this facility is expected to bring in at least 745 clean energy jobs to the region.
