Porte Parole and Arts Midwest collaborate!Délégation du Québec à Chicago Tuesday, June 15, 2021
On June 15, 2021, Arts Midwest in partnership with Welcoming America will bring together multiple arts, producers, and other guests to discuss current cultural divisions in the US.
Annabel Soutar, Montréal-based dramaturge, theater producer, and founder of Porte Parole Productions will be among the guests of honor. Porte Parole has a mission to produce works of documentary theater that encourage civic engagement around social issues and create public spaces for democratic dialogue. Since 2016, Annabel has worked with Alex Ivanovici and Brett Watson on a series of plays called The Assembly, which touch on various topics such as immigration, freedom of speech, and political polarization. These goals resonate well with the objective of Arts Midwest’s roundtable discussion, “Art to Bridge Divides” which is also part of the National Week of Conversation in the US (June 14-20).
The first 100 registrants will receive an exclusive code to a free screening of the documentary film, “The Reunited States” which tells four stories of four individuals in the United States who seek to bridge political and racial divisions.
Tuesday, June 15th, 11:30am- 12:30pm CST
