The Québec government office in Brussels (DGQB) welcomed a group of 14 students from Longueuil’s CEGEP Édouard-Montpetit, who were in the Belgian capital on a study trip. The young people were invited to take part in a series of activities built around the theme “Europe: Between Freedom and Belonging.”
The “Passeport-Europe” program at CEGEP Édouard-Montpetit is designed for second-year students enrolled in the humanities and social sciences. It heightens participants’ awareness of life in Europe and compares the European context with those of Québec and Canada.
The program for the Brussels study trip was a chance for the students to gain real-life experience and reflect on a wide array of international issues. They met European political players in Brussels and attended talks and discussions on the themes of European integration and national identity, featuring experts and academics.
