Mentoring: The Voice of Québec Experience Speaks to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg

As it launched its new business mentoring program, the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce drew inspiration from the Québec model. It called on the services of Alain Aubut, a former Québec business executive who has become a mentor and the vice president of the Réseau francophone du Mentorat d’affaires (Francophone business mentoring network).

Mr Alain Aubut, vice-chairman of the “Réseau du Mentorat d'affaires de la fondation de l'Entrepreneurship Québec” came all the way from Canada for sharing with us his experience concerning mentoring.

“A business has twice the chance of surviving and developing when the person at the helm has the assistance of an experienced business executive. Mentoring allows entrepreneurs to provide for healthier growth of their businesses and to take up important aspects, such as new talent, in a structured way.” That is the message Mr. Aubut came to deliver to 200 guests from the business community at the launch of the program on February 24. The launch was held in the presence of Luxembourg’s Minister of the Middle Classes and Tourism, Françoise Hetto-Gaash, and its Minister of the Economy and Foreign Trade, Jeannot Krecké, both of whom declared themselves in favour of this new initiative, which should make it easier for new businesses to thrive.
