Representatives of French language organizations meet in Liège

Every year, French language organizations from France, Switzerland, Québec and the French Community of Belgium meet to review their cooperation activities, develop new initiatives and discuss topics of common interest during a symposium.

In 2009, the French Community of Belgium’s Council of the French Language and Linguistic Policy and French Language Department hosted representatives from the participating organizations at Colonster Castle in Liège on November 26. During the meeting, the organizations issued the Liège Declaration, under which they officially established themselves as a network: the Conference of Francophone Linguistic Policy Organizations (ROFRAPOL). Québec is represented by the Linguistic Policy Secretariat (SPL), the Supreme Council of the French Language (CSLF) and the Québec Office of the French Language (OQLF).

The meeting was following by a symposium on November 27-28 entitled “Effective and Accessible Communications with the General Public”.
