Ministère du Tourisme du Québec takes part in Brussels Travel Expo

On December 9, the Ministère du Tourisme, the Québec government department devoted to promoting tourism in Québec, took part in the Brussels Travel Expo.

Travel-industry specialists thus had a chance to find out about a variety of new products that make tourism in Québec more appealing than ever.

First, tourists will soon be able to fly to Québec directly with Air Transat, which will be offering an initial Brussels-Montréal flight as of April 14, 2010. A second flight will be added on May 7 and four direct flights per week will be scheduled during the high season.

Next, outdoor enthusiasts can now opt for accommodation in an outfitting camp or a forest hostel and, during the winter months, take part in snowmobiling, dog-sledding, snowshoeing, Nordic skiing and snowboarding. An extensive and varied choice of activities is available during other three seasons, including hiking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing and seaplane tours!

For cycling fans, Québec boasts North America’s longest bike-path network, stretching over more than 4,000 kilometres. An ideal way to visit Québec’s picturesque regions!

Tourists who want to avoid the beaten path can choose from a variety of unconventional types of accommodation. Depending on the season, they can stay in a bed and breakfast, a boutique hotel, a tepee, a lighthouse, an igloo, a Mongolian dome tent, an ice-fishing hut or even a hotel made of ice.

Some visitors will be tempted by a outdoor activities followed by a luxury spa and fine dining — a winning combination.
