During their official visit to Brussels (June 26-29), Québec Premier Jean Charest and Manitoba Premier Gary Doer demonstrated their commitment to fighting climate change and reiterated their desire to sign an expanded Canada-EU economic partnership agreement in the next two years.

Québec and Manitoba join the UNDP’s Territorial Approach to Climate Change
On the afternoon of June 26, the Premiers attended a ceremony at the Brussels offices of the United Nations—the “organization that belongs to us all”. In the presence of Christophe Nuttall, Director of the UN Development Program’s Hub for Innovative Partnerships, they signed a document indicating their intention to join the Territorial Approach to Climate Change initiative, which aims to foster north/south regional cooperation in fighting and mitigating the effects of climate change.
