The Québec Government Office in Singapore carries out a primarily economic mandate by promoting Québec expertise in sectors of common interest as well as by identifying business opportunities and partnerships for Québec companies, institutions and organisations wishing to position themselves in Singapore and Southeast Asia in general.
Over the past 20 years, René Sylvestre has held several positions in the public and private sectors that have enabled him to acquire extensive experience in finance, business development and project management in an international context. During that time, he served as a consultant for major organisations and a market analyst at a financial institution, in addition to working abroad for an economic development agency. He also held the position of director of finance and general affairs for a division of a European conglomerate.
Mr. Sylvestre has extensive knowledge in financial analysis, government relations and market research. His expertise likewise includes in-depth knowledge of economic development at the provincial and municipal levels.
Mr. Sylvestre holds an MBA from the National University of Singapore, a B.B.A. with a specialisation in finance from HEC Montréal business school, and a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree with concentrations in economic science and Canadian and Québec politics from the University of Ottawa.
