On March 15, the Director of the Québec Government Office in Washington participated in courses of My French Classes (Bethesda, Maryland) with three interns from the office.
The Quebecers presented their province in front of over 80 francophone students age 5 to 14. The director followed the presentation with a meeting with the parents of students to explain the Quebec university system, which aroused great interest among the participants. The briefing indeed raised an impressive number of questions.
The program My French Classes :
The program My French Classes offers courses to Francophone school children in American Anglophone schools. Initiated in 2013 by French parents settled in the area, this program aims to preserve and enrich the knowledge of French among children in English schools. Students have the future opportunity to study in a French school or university system.
The Washington Bureau also supported this program by offering several books for young people in the school library. This activity is only one of many that supports the promotion of the French language and Francophonie in the Washington DC area.
