Regional Conference of Capitale-Nationale MNAs and the Aquitaine Regional Council are proud of the new French-Québec guide to good practices to encourage academic success and student retention released on October 20, 2011, in Québec City at the 2nd Rencontres interrégionales sur la persévérance et la réussite scolaires [Interregional Meetings on Student Retention and Academic Success.
The Guide describes 22 original, inspirational initiatives to fight school dropout and contribute to the academic success of students that were implemented in nine regions in Québec (Capitale-Nationale, Côte-Nord, Laurentides, Lanaudière, Mauricie, Montérégie, Montréal, Outaouais and Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean) and six regions in France (Aquitaine, Bretagne, Centre, Champagne-Ardennes, Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Rhône-Alpes). The results of the initiatives described in the guide can serve as examples and be used by other stakeholders. The Guide is a tool that can be used by all education, training and employment professionals in Québec and France.
The Guide was made possible with support from the French-Québec Fund for Decentralized Cooperation, the Québec ministère des Relations internationales and the Consulate General of France in Québec City.
The cooperation since 2006 between the Capitale-Nationale and Aquitaine regions on finding solutions to the problem of school dropout is based on educational innovation.
