Monique Gagnon-Tremblay, the Minister of International Relations and Minister responsible for La Francophonie, will head a trade mission to Brazil from October 24 to 28 to strengthen Québec’s presence in this emerging market.
A twenty-strong business delegation will accompany the Minister in order to promote the know-how of Québec businesses with Brazilian partners. Aware of the enormous potential of cooperation with Brazil, representatives from the education and research sectors will also participate in the mission, which will travel to Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and São Paulo.
“Québec wants to strengthen its presence in the Brazilian market, a ‘must go’ international business destination. By opening a permanent office in São Paulo, Québec has shown that it is ready to ratchet up its relations with this great emerging power, and I am pleased to note that trade between Québec and Brazil has increased dramatically in recent years,” said Minister Gagnon-Tremblay.
