Commissioned by the French Prime Minister François Fillon to coordinate France’s actions with respect to the Plan Nord, the French Minister of Industry, Energy and the Digital Economy, Éric Besson, visited Québec from September 7 to 10 accompanied by a delegation representing 14 French companies.

During its visit, the French delegation was received by Québec Premier, Jean Charest, who was accompanied by the Minister of International Relations and Minister responsible for La Francophonie, Monique Gagnon-Tremblay, and Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade, Sam Hamad.
The delegation also had an opportunity to speak to Québec’s chief negotiator in the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, Pierre Marc Johnson, and meet with Investissement Québec representatives.
