A new Québec Government office will be opened in Russia.
Additional economic advisors and/or trade attachés will be hired at Québec’s Government Offices in Brazil, India and China.
Additional credits of $1.1 million this year and $2 million next year will be earmarked for the Department of International Relations (MRI).
In the area of culture, the Government Québec has created the Québec Culture Capital Fund, a $100 million venture capital fund designed to support our cultural enterprises’ major international projects. Québec’s Council of Arts and Letters (CALQ) will also receive an extra $3 million to promote the distribution of artistic and literary works outside of Québec.
Mr. Bachand also announced the creation of the Northern Plan Fund. This fund will receive a portion of the tax revenues derived from development activities in the area covered by the Northern Plan. In addition, the Government will be unveiling its 2011-2020 Electric Vehicle Action Plan in the near future.
In economic terms, the “Made in Québec” label is already internationally appreciated, and the Government would like it to become a worldwide emblem of Québec’s success and pride.
