The Québec Government Office in Mumbai launched the first edition of Québec Film Utsav in the presence of Kiran Shantaram, the former Sheriff of Mumbai, and an audience of nearly 300 people. The program of Québec films gave Indian film-goers a good opportunity to discover the richness of Québec culture.
A selection of nine films was presented at the Chavan Centre in Mumbai from January 28 to 31. The films reflected the evolution and identity of Québec society seen through the eyes of several of our greatest contemporary directors:
This cultural event marked the first anniversary of the inauguration of the Québec Government Office in Mumbai. It was organized in partnership with the French Department of the University of Mumbai, the Federation of Film Societies of India and Prabhat Chitra Mandal. Québec Film Utsav coincided with a Government of Québec trade mission to India led by Clément Gignac, the Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade.
