As part of the project to create a Québec International Solidarity Agency (AQSI), we invite you to participate in an online public consultation on our website from September 30 to November 22, 2013. The purpose of the online questionnaire/survey is to collect your views and comments on the directions an AQSI should take.
Québec, notably through the actions of its international cooperation organizations (ICOs) and other institutions, has proven expertise in the field of international solidarity, expertise that is recognized by the international development community here and abroad.
The Ministère des Relations internationales, de la Francophonie et du Commerce extérieur (MRIFCE) has been active in this area since its creation in 1967. MRIFCE has developed special relationships with Québec ICOs, which it actively supports within the framework of its international solidarity programs.
On February 6, the Government of Québec announced the establishment of a Joint Working Group made up of representatives from MRIFCE and the Association québécoise des organismes de coopération internationale (AQOCI). The Joint Working Group was tasked with studying the possibility of creating an AQSI.
The work of the Group is based on the resolve to develop a vision of international solidarity that is shared by the government, the ICOs and Québec society in general, with the aim of broadening the scope of our international cooperation actions.
We invite you to participate in this public consultation by submitting your innovative ideas and your views no later than November 22.
You can also visit the consultation website for more information on the objectives underlying the creation of an AQSI and on upcoming activities in which you can take part.
Thank you for your commitment to and participation in this project.
