The Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) and the Institut français recently signed a three-year agreement regarding exchanges of digital arts artists and studio-apartments. Every year beginning in 2013, two Québec artists will go to Paris and two French artists will come to Montréal for three months.
Digital arts integrate practices based on the use of any number of information and communication technologies:
CALQ creative residencies
Since its inception in 1994, CALQ has developed, in collaboration with partners in Québec and elsewhere, a network of creative residences for artists of various generations, regardless of their disciplines. CALQ’s goal is to support and encourage artists by providing them with sufficient resources to create and distribute their works. Every year, it grants bursaries to nearly sixty Québec artists and writers for residencies in Canada and in 15 countries with which Québec wishes to develop long-term cultural contacts. In return, CALQ welcomes some twenty artists from Central America, South America, Europe, the rest of Canada and Northern Québec.
