The “Vendanges” program is now accepting registrations for its 36th harvest season! This annual program offered by the Québec-France Association gives young Quebecers an opportunity to work in French vineyards. It is the perfect opportunity to discover one of the essential aspects of French culture. The deadline for registering is June 4, 2012.
From Beaujolais and Champagne to Bourgogne and Val-de-Loire, grapes are harvested from the end of August to mid-October (depending on the weather in France this summer) and harvests last anywhere from 6 to 12 days. Participants are provided room and board and paid approximately €60 ($90) per day. This program also allows your friends to work at the same vineyard as you (subject to availability).
