The Québec brewery Unibroue garnered the most prizes amongst Canadian participants at the prestigious World Beer Awards 2011 that were held in London, U.K.
From its newest ales to its classic Blanche de Chambly, the first beer created by the brewery, Unibroue beers made quite an impression with the international jury. Even Blonde de Chambly, the brewery's latest addition launched in 2010, was honoured with the title of Best Standard Pale Ale.
The six other prizes received by Unibroue include Best Fruit Wheat Beer (Éphémère Cassis), Best Spiced Wheat Beer (Blanche de Chambly); Americas Best Amber Pale Ale (Maudite); Americas Best Golden Pale Ale (La Fin du Monde); Americas Best Flavoured Dark Ale (Quelque Chose); and Americas Best Strong Wheat Beer (Don de Dieu).
From its very first competition over 15 years ago, and every year since, Unibroue has stepped up to the podium in numerous international events. Its continuing success can be attributed to the consistent quality and constant innovation consumers have come to expect from this home grown brewery.
