The Québec Government Office in New York organized an IT trade mission in cooperation with the World Trade Centre Montréal on September 29-30, 2010. The mission provided four Québec companies the opportunity to develop business relationships in the information technology and business solutions sectors.
As part of the two-day program, participants attended "Leveraging Hot Technologies," a seminar organized by the Wall Street Technology Association. They also took part in a networking event held by the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, with Montréal Mayor Gérald Tremblay as a guest of honor.
Additionally, two roundtable discussions by marketing experts and IT companies in the local market provided mentoring and marketing context to the participants. In an effort to initiate business relationship, each participant had three to four one-on-one meetings with potential U.S. partners who are IT members of New Jersey Technology Council, the prominent industry organization located in New Jersey and key partner of Québec Government Office in New York.
This trade mission is already showing concrete results, as one of the participating companies, Félix Laroche, vice-president of commercial development for JLR Recherche immobilière, explains: "This trade mission was essential for the development of our company in the U.S. and made us realize that our products have a lot of potential in New York, the U.S. and even internationally. We already have a number of opportunities."
The delegation included World Trade Centre Montréal, JLR Recherche immobilière, TRSB Inc., MPEX Business Solutions and Alertex.
