The Ministère des Relations internationales (MRI) was singled out for honours in the Public Service category for the signing of the Québec-France agreement on mutual recognition of professional competence, at an awards gala held by the Institut d’administration publique de Québec (IAPQ).
Members of the award-winning team: Andréanne Lauzé-Jean, Luc Bergeron, Véronique Leclerc, Hélène Latouche, Fakhri Gharbi, Éric Théroux, Nathalie Latulippe and Brigitte Parent.
This major international relations achievement for Québec would have been impossible without the excellent collaboration of the French authorities. It is also due to efforts by a number of other Québec government departments and agencies, including the Office des professions, Ministère du Travail, Ministère de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale, Ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles, Commission de la construction and Commission des partenaires du marché du travail.
Deployment of the agreement is ongoing, under the responsibility of Secretary General Gil Rémillard and Assistant Deputy Minister Marie-Claude Francoeur. The MRI is justifiably proud of this historic accord, which has ushered in a new age of cooperation with a European partner and shows that decisive governmental efforts can open up new rights for qualified individuals in France and Québec.
