Following an agreement with the Thomas J. Watson Library of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), Artexte, a documentation center on contemporary art based in Montreal, is donating more than 300 publications on Canadian and Quebecois contemporary art of the 20th and 21st century. This donation of titles, consisting primarily of exhibition catalogues and monographs, will in turn enhance the representation of Canadian artists in this important international resource.
Over the years, Artexte has accumulated a number of publications that duplicates materials already in its collection. In response to this situation, the organization endeavours to make these works available to other documentary resources mandated to serve a public of professionals, academics, and art connoisseurs.
