Experimental choreographers from Québec will take part in the 23rd edition of the Performance Mix Festival in New York from February 24 to March 7, 2009.
Produced by New Dance Alliance, the festival brings together an eclectic mix of short performances by choreographers, video artists, composers and performers from around the world.
Founder Karen Bernard teams up with Montréal’s Studio 303 to present at the Joyce SoHo a roster of Québec artists including Trial & Eros/Deborah Dunn (February 24-25), the collective The Choreographers (February 26), Line Nault (February 27), LIKLIK PIK/George Stamos and Dana Michel (March 6-7).
In addition, Montréal choreographer Tedi Tafel will perform a site-specific work, Life-World, in the window of Nili Lotan Design Studio in Tribeca (March 1-2 at 9:00 pm.), and at the Mobile Clubbing at Foley Square (February 26 and March 5).

The program also includes Breakfast Mix, a panel discussion on social network to be held at Dance Theatre Workshop. The discussion will focus on internet and inter-personal communication with guest-speaker Marlon Barrios Solano, network creator and producer of the interactive website Dance-Tech, and Miriam Ginestier, director of Studio 303 in Montréal.
A studio showing by Montréal artist Dana Michel will follow. This event, sponsored by the Cultural Services of the Québec Government Office in New York, is free and open to the public.
