Québec Government Office in New York > Accelerated Growth Center
The Québec Government Office in New York is launching a business growth center (Accelerated Growth Center (AGC)/Centre de Croissance Accélérée (CCA)) for Québec businesses active in U.S. markets, especially in the Mid-Atlantic, New England and Midwest regions. A cohort of 6 to 8 Québec-based companies will be invited to take up residence at AGC. The services of local consulting firms in different fields will be retained to boost the success of their growth in the United States, primarily in the target regions.
The creation of AGC, which is managed by the Québec Government Office in New York in collaboration with the Québec government offices in Boston and Chicago, comes in the wake of Québec’s Export Strategy (2016-2020), which was unveiled in the fall of 2016. The strategy has a section titled "Destination: U.S." that focuses on stimulating export growth in U.S. markets. AGC is the first measure set out in this strategy.
A governance committee is responsible for selecting the Québec companies according to criteria based on revenue and export experience. The companies may qualify for a 6-to-18 month consulting period. Over the next three years, approximately forty Québec businesses will benefit from services provided by AGC. The Government of Québec will support the companies selected by AGC, both logistically and financially. More than $1.8 million (CAD) in grants will be available over the next three years to support consulting projects for these Québec businesses.
AGC will identify expert consultants from recognized professional American firms in areas such as corporate law, human resources, market strategy, marketing, media and public relations, finance, accountancy and other specialized fields. Firms will be retained by the Québec companies for a range of services to assist them in their growth in the U.S.
The main goal of participating companies is to accelerate their growth in the U.S. The companies will undergo assessment interviews to evaluate their specific needs. This process will help them determine which type of services and experts they are looking for and formulate objectives, including the following:
AGC will introduce the Québec companies to various consultancy firms with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
