Shoppers in New York can now purchase delicious food products from Québec with a quick jaunt to their nearest Morton Williams supermarket in Manhattan and Jersey City. Officially launched in March, the year-long "Foods of Québec" promotion brings a taste of Québec’s rich culinary tradition to the Big Apple.
Abundance, quality and variety are some of the words used to describe Québec’s agri-food products. Thanks to a fertile land and abundant natural resources as well as the ingenuity and know-how of its entrepreneurs, Québec has developed a thriving agri-food industry and a reputation around the globe as a supplier of high quality products offering a unique mix of European and North American influences.
“We are proud to partner with Morton Williams to bring some of the best food products from Québec to the New York market,” said Québec’s Delegate General to New York Dominique Poirier. “Our role is to help and support companies in the development of new markets and the promotion of their products. Worldwide exports of Québec agri-food products are thriving, reaching $6.1 billion in 2012, and with over 50% ($3.1 billion) going to the U.S. market,” she added.
From award-winning craft beers, mouthwatering cheeses and breads to oils and irresistible maple treats – including a premium water made of maple sap - the items featured are produced by companies that combine innovation and creativity with a rich European heritage, each bringing its own unique taste from Québec farms to the dinner table.
