Premier Pauline Marois will carry out an economic mission to the United Kingdom and Switzerland from January 20 to 24.
Her first stop is in London, where she will give a speech on investment opportunities in Québec at a venue in the City, the financial heart of the British capital. She will then head for Davos, Switzerland, to take part in the 44th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum.
According to the Premier, “This mission will be a unique opportunity to promote Québec, present our Economic Policy (“Putting Jobs First”) launched in October and meet key players in the worlds of finance, the economy and politics, namely heads of government, investors and corporate leaders with a special interest in Québec.”
The 44th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos is a “must” for economic and political decision-makers. This year’s theme is “The Reshaping of the World: Consequences for Society, Politics and Business.”
In addition to taking part in top-level economic meetings, the Premier will attend two workshops. One of them will focus on alternative energy solutions in the transportation sector — an area of particular interest for Québec, which recently unveiled its transportation electrification strategy.
The second workshop will look at the best ways to adapt training to the labour market, especially training for young people.
In the words of Premier Marois, “The incentives that we have implemented under our Economic Policy, combined with Quebecers’ boundless know-how, creativity and capacity for innovation, make Québec an especially good place to invest. That’s the message we want to deliver in order ensure our growth and prosperity.”
