Brooklyn / Montreal is the first artistic encounter in more than a decade between Montreal and New York – two leading North American centres of today’s art. Through a series of hybrid exhibitions, the event will highlight these cities’ artistic differences and similarities.

Run by Le Centre CLARK, the event will bring together 16 different, dynamic institutions. Some 40 artists from our bustling and diverse urban scenes will create a series of special events for the public. Held this October 2012 in Montréal, then in January 2013 in Brooklyn, the various events and exhibitions will lead visitors on a journey across the two cities.

A series of openings will follow on October 19 and 20 in the partner institutions: Galerie de l’UQAM, Optica, Les Territoires, articule, Le Centre CLARK, Galerie [SAS], Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal and Galerie Division.
