How would you encourage young people around you to use French? This is the question that the Centre de la francophonie des Amériques (CFA) is asking young people in the Americas, via its “Jeunesse francophone en action” contest. To answer the question, participants have to make a clip-length video describing a stimulating project for their community, educational institution or cultural milieu.
The contestants who submit the five best proposals will receive $5,000 to deploy their projects. The contest is open to young people between the ages of 16 and 35 across the Americas. The deadline for submitting a video is March 6, 2009. The winners will be announced on March 20, International Francophone Day.
Officially opened in October 2009, the CFA promotes and highlights francophone culture in the Americas. It favours dialogue, partnerships and francophone networking in North and South America, with respect to projects focusing on the French language, francophone culture and youth.
