While visiting the Los Angeles area on an economic and diplomatic mission, the Québec Minister of International Relations and La Francophonie, Ms. Christine St-Pierre, was received as a special guest at the annual celebration of the Québec National Holiday.
Close to 100 friends, partners, and members of the diplomatic corps from Southern California reunited on June 23rd for an evening reception to connect, celebrate and share their love for Québec.
This year’s celebration coincided with the 50th anniversary of the Ministry of International Relations. During the evening, Minister St-Pierre awarded the 50th anniversary medal to Mr. Pierre Leloup, director of the Théâtre Raymond-Kabbaz. Mr. Leloup was recognized for his tireless work promoting Québec artists, musicians, and movies in Los Angeles.
In the City of Angels, Minister St-Pierre also met with key business and political partners at the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and worked to foster even stronger economic links between Québec and California. Prior to her visit to the West Coast, Minister St-Pierre traveled to Boston and New York—the day she spent in Los Angeles thus concluded a transcontinental mission to reinforce Québec’s position in the United States.
