Between 15–24 January, Québec’s Premier Philippe Couillard undertook a mission in Europe which took him to the United Kingdom and Belgium, as well as the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The objective: to lay out Québec’s economic priorities, including key components such as the Plan Nord and Maritime Strategy.
Last Monday 26 January, the Québec Government Office in London received at the request of Université Laval, a student delegation from the university’s students association, CIMAL-Laval. The group are presently in the United-Kingdom to take part in an international university event. Staff at the Québec Government Office in London gave the delegates an overview of the mission and activities covered by the representation across its mandated territories and were able to exchange with the students on various issues.

As part of the activities marking its 50th anniversary, the Québec Government Office in Paris (DGQP) recently partnered with the Université Sorbonne-Nouvelle – Paris 3 and the International Association of Québec Studies (AIEQ) to host a colloquium on literary exchanges and cooperation between France and Québec. The colloquium was geared to instructors, students, writers, journalists and researchers.
Minister for Tourism Pascal Bérubé will represent the Québec government at the official launch of Bül in Brussels on December 13. The event wraps up the celebrations held to mark the 40th anniversary of the creation of the Québec government office in Brussels (DGQB). Minister Bérubé will meet with the elected representatives responsible for tourism in Brussels, Wallonia and Namur, as well as tour operators and specialized tourism media representatives.

At the close of the XV Francophonie Summit, held last week in the Senegalese capital city Dakar, and by a unanimous decision following closed consultations between the Heads of the organisation’s Member States and Governments, Mrs Michaëlle Jean was chosen to succeed Mr Abdou Diouf as Secretary-General to the Organisation International de la Francophonie (OIF). Mrs Jean is the first woman to hold this function.
On November 14, the Deputy Minister of International Relations, La Francophonie and External Trade, Michel Audet, together with the president of the jury, Diane Wilhelmy, presented the Public Administration of Québec (IAPQ) 2012 International Impact Award to the Québec Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (ITHQ).

Last Monday 3 November 2014, Québec’s Minister for Energy and Natural Resources, Pierre Arcand, made a whistle-stop in London, after attending the 2014 Arctic Circle Assembly in Reykjavik, to present Québec’s Plan Nord at the Canada-United Kingdom Chamber of Commerce.
Québec was invited for the first time as an official partner region to the Global Investor Summit, which was held from October 28 to 30 in Madhya Pradesh, one of the most important states in India, with a population over 70 million.

The Québec Government Office in Rome (DQR) and the City of Milan have created the Albert Leclerc, Ginette Caron, Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte: Three Generations, Three Québec Designers in Milan exhibit at the Palazzo Morando, a prestigious location in the city's historic centre.
