Happy Québec National Day! Happy National Day in Québec! This year, it has to be said, is a little different. We will not be able to meet. We will not be able to share a drink together. But, please keep an eye open for our social media as we have an ambitious programme. I take this opportunity to say thank you; Thank you very much to all the keys workers, here in the UK, in the Nordic countries, in Ireland, in Québec, who have taken such good care of our loved ones, of our families and of our friends. Thank you very much. Happy National Day to Québeckers! Thank you to our friends for celebrating with us! Good celebrations everyone!
Video from Michael Brophy, Professor of French and Francophone Studies at the University College Dublin in Ireland
Hello, My name is Michael Brophy and I am professor at University College in Dublin. For me, Québec represents many things. It’s a nation, a people, a culture, which is characterised not only by its uniqueness and for its widespread openness. It has always been for me, a safe haven, a distinctive opening to the world, a nation that keeps its ties to Europe; At the same time, It proudly takes its place in the belonging to the vast American continent. And it is the complexity of its influences, Of its convergences which intrigue me, and fascinate me. I wish you all, from all of your Irish friends, a very beautiful National Day.
Lily Pol Neveu, Political and Public Affairs Director at the Québec Government Office in London
Hello! My name is Lily Pol Neveu and I live in London! So, I want to wish you all a happy St Jean Baptiste Day! And for me, when we are abroad, we want to celebrate The Québec National Day to remind us of our origins and of our Culture! And, to recall on beautiful memories of what was for me Québec National Day, which included huge St Jean bonfires which burnt, Not the firework displays! The absolute massive camps fires, which were organised nearby the baseball pitch or on beaches. So, this represents for me the most evocative memories of the Saint Jean Baptiste. I wish you all a very Happy Québec national day! Thank you!

Ceri Morgan, Senior Lecturer in English and creative writing at Keele University in England
At the age of 22, I read Kamouraska by Anne Hébert and I fell in love with Québec. I did a doctorate on imaginary spaces from the Québec novel and I still work as a teacher in this field. I am a Montrealer by adoption. Several friends live there and I have studied and researched at UQAM, McGill and Concordia. French has become my second language. I love Montreal but very much appreciate the province of Québec. I have visited Tadoussac five times. My next project focuses on the provincial novel and the countries of the heart. Québec is a part of me.
