The Cultural Department of the Québec Government Office in London is happy to announce the publication of the latest edition of the Québec culture brochure for the UK, Ireland and the Nordic countries!
As usual, the brochure provides a large amount of information concerning a wide selection of Québec cultural events taking place across an array of artistic sectors throughout the UK, Ireland and Nordic countries.
This is the 51st edition of the cultural brochure, and also the first published under our new Agent-General, Mr. John A. Coleman, who took up his post in October.
From an economic perspective, the cultural sector is of great significance for Québec, contributing 14.5 billion Canadian dollars annually to Québec’s GDP. Perhaps even more importantly, as Mr. Coleman has stressed, culture is a key component of a kind and enlightened society.
In addition to our ongoing cooperation with the British Council, we recently launched a call for projects with the Nordic Council of Ministers. Applications from the fields of culture and innovation will be accepted until mid-February.
Also featured in the brochure are a number of exciting Québec artists who will be taking up residency in our territory in the coming months – please see pages 12 and 13 for more information.
As further testament to the importance of culture within our work at the Québec Government Office in London, last summer we had the opportunity to reinforce our Department and welcome new team members. Further details are on page 1 of the brochure.
We hope that this brochure will inspire, challenge and entertain you. Please feel free to contact the Cultural Team to discuss any current, future or potential cultural projects involving Québec.
