The Québec Government Office in London’s latest Newsletter will be published today. Please find below the Agent-General’s message for this edition:
Just over a month into the New Year and since my having taken up office and it has already been somewhat of a whirlwind of activity to start the year with.
It was a tremendous honor for me to welcome our Premier, Mr Philippe Couillard, to London on 15 January for a two day visit as he commenced the first leg of his wider mission in Europe. And the activity continued with an economic and political mission carried out by Québec’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources and Minister responsible for the Plan Nord, Mr Pierre Arcand, in Stockholm, Sweden, between 26 and 28 January. You can read all about Premier Couillard and Minister Arcand’s actions in London, Wales and Sweden in this newsletter.
In the meantime Québec artists and cultural enterprises have been showcasing the best of Québec in theatres, concert halls, cinemas and galleries across the United Kingdom, Ireland and the Nordic territories. You will no doubt find a host of Québec happenings around you, if you consult our cultural brochure and events calendar below. Next month from 25th to 27th February, Québec City will host an International Symposium on Northern Development. There is still time to register and you will find details in this edition.
We hope the New Year is off to a flying start for all of you too. For the months to come, we are looking forward to the opportunities of not just strengthening Québec’s existing ties and relationships across our mandated territory, but of building and fostering new ones. Québec and its people are known for their warmth and hospitality. We invite you to make 2015 the year you experience this for yourself.
