The Quebec Government Office in Chicago hosted a Quebec delegation of companies and institutions from January 29th to February 1st to take part in the conversation around the Smart Factory.
The group attended the Industry 4.0 ThinkTank, a conference organized by the Quebec-based Optel Group on the current innovations in manufacturing. The Industry 4.0 ThinkTank brought together prestigious speakers from companies like Apple, Boeing, Rockwell Automation, BCG and Oracle around a common theme: the shift to the industry 4.0 for manufacturers.
Quebec is taking a strong stance to promote the next phase in the digitization of the manufacturing sector. Many Quebec manufacturers have embraced and even developed some Smart Factory tools and Quebec as a whole is committed to developing capabilities in areas such as IIoT, big data analytics, connectivity, AI, AR-VR, advanced robotics and additive manufacturing.
The Quebec Government Office also took this opportunity to introduce the group to some of the Chicagoland pioneers and innovators when it comes to the industry 4.0 through the visit of UI Labs and the TRUMPF Smart Factory. The Quebec Office also organized an Industry 4.0 Breakfast to showcase the innovations of some of the participating Quebec companies and give them the opportunity to network with peers from Chicago, the US as a whole and abroad. Among the Quebec companies who presented: the Optel Group, APN, and Worximity .
The Industry 4.0 ThinkTank conference will be back next year for its second edition and we will once again be presenting some of Quebec’s best and brightest, but in the meantime, do not hesitate to get in touch with the Quebec Government Office in Chicago if you would like to learn more about Quebec’s contribution to the emergence of the fourth industrial revolution.
