From October 20 through the 22nd, 2017, the Government of Quebec took part in the Leadership Summit of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Governors and Premiers (GSGP) in Detroit (MI) and Windsor (ON). The Quebec delegation included the Minister of Transport, Sustainable Mobility and Transport Electrification, André Fortin, and the Head of the Quebec Government Office in Chicago, Jean-François Hould.

The Montréal-based investment firm, Fiera Capital, announced on Monday, February 29, that they had made a deal to acquire the Ohio firm, Apex Capital Management. Apex Capital, which is based in Dayton, reportedly sold for 145 million dollars. The former head of Apex Capital, Nitin Kumbhani, will assume the role of vice president of consulting and chief of strategy. Fiera, which was founded in 2010 as the result of a merger between two Canadian firms, currently holds about 82 billion dollars in assets. This acquisition will allow Fiera to double its presence in the institutional investmenet market as well as the individual investment consulting market.

PORTAGE, Indiana, Sept. 29, 2015 – Québec Minister of International Relations and Francophonie Christine St-Pierre and Indiana Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann, today announced that the Province of Québec and the State of Indiana will launch a new partnership to intensify their collaboration in Great Lakes/St. Lawrence System shipping and maritime economic development. Recent studies have shown that for the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence region, maritime transportation accounts for $34 billion in annual economic returns and more than 225,000 jobs.
