Québec’s Delegate General in New York City, John Parisella, was a panellist at the annual conference of the Canadian American Business Council (CABC). Held on June 10 in Washington, DC, under the theme “What ever happened to the North American market? Implications for Canada/U.S. relations,” the conference drew close to 200 participants.
John Parisella’s presentation focused on ways to increase business opportunities between Québec and the United States in areas such as energy, transportation and government procurement contracts. Other participants in the conference included U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood.
The Government of Québec launched its new U.S. strategy in January of this year. It includes an action plan identifying efforts to be deployed between now and 2013 in order to strengthen relations between Québec and the United States.
