More than twenty companies from Quebec visited Chicago from September 28th through the 30th to participate in the 88th edition of WEFTEC (Water Environment Federation’s Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference), the world’s largest annual water quality exhibition.
One of the highlights of the companies’ visit to Chicago was the Quebec/Ontario Reception, “Seeking Synergies, Developing Solutions” on September 29th. More than 160 guests from throughout the U.S. and Canada attended the networking reception where operators of water and waste water treatment facilities had the opportunity to network with the 14 Quebec companies in attendance. In her welcoming address, Ms Christine St-Pierre, Minister of International Relations and La Francophonie presented the Quebec companies and highlighted the strengths of Quebec in the water sector. In addition to the support of Export Quebec, Orbinox (www.orbinox.com) and Hunter Exposition (www.hunterexpositions.com) were also sponsors of the event.
The Quebec companies also participated in B2B meetings at McCormick Place where WEFTEC took place. This was an excellent opportunity for them to develop strategic partnerships in this important sector.
During her visit to Chicago, Minister St-Pierre also visited the Quebec companies in their booths at WEFTEC to highlight this important sector of the Quebec economy.
