The surprise snow storm on Monday, March 23rd, was a subtle reminder that winter cannot be escaped in the Midwest. Yet from March 21st to the 24th, during the Fall/Winter 2015-16 edition of Stylemax at the Merchandise Mart, the snow that blanketed the Chicago streets only gave inspiration to the participants within the 100,000 square foot show. Exhibitors were pleased to share their new fall lines to the trade as the new fashions not only conveyed practicality against the frigid cold air but that also are an embodiment of style and elegance.
Over 70 companies from Québec were represented on the 7th floor of the Merchandise Mart. Under the branding of MontréaL CollectionS to reinforce their visibility among buyers, this select group of companies is a testament of Montréal's success in the Midwest.
In order to showcase their own brands in the Midwest, J & Libra by ASM Fashions - maker of bold and exciting prints - and Up! Pants, creator of pull-on thincredibleTM pants joined with MontréaL CollectionS to showcase their styles on the elevator doors on the 7th Floor to help promote all lines from Montréal.
MontréaL CollectionS sponsored the Opening Night Party & Fashion Show at Stylemax and was the topic of conversation. A standing room only crowd illustrated the success of the Montréal industry. In fact, more than 350 buyers, vendors, and fashion enthusiasts flocked to the majestic lobby of the Merchandise Mart to watch the show.
The fashion show benefited MontréaL CollectionS 22 participating apparel companies and 7 accessory creators as it raised product awareness and reinforced the style of their brands. The show was further promoted by the guests as they tweeted and instagrammed their experience. As a result, the companies within MontréaL CollectionS broadened their potential market to those who were not able to attend the show in Chicago.
This show however was not exclusive to aiding Montréal apparel companies. By partnering with the Tourism Office of Québec in Chicago and Neige Bubble, the reception and fashion show succeeded in reinforcing Montréal as a true travel destination and bon vivant.
