The infamous Chicago cold did not keep the masses of buyers, sellers, and fashion enthusiasts away from participating in the first Chicago Collective of the year. From February 8th-10th the exhibitors tried to warmed buyers as they presented their Fall-Winter 2015-16 lines.
Over six hundred exhibitors participated in this event including twenty-eight from Quebec. These 28 companies from Quebec utilized the branding of Montreal Collections in order to reinforce their visibility.
Among this group of companies is Majestic International. Majestic International is a brand that creates clothes which embody the idea of comfort. They were pleased with the Quebec Government Office in Chicago, as the Chicago office created an elevator advertisement which exposed buyers to their brand. More importantly, Montreal Collections as a whole benefitted from this advertisement as each participating member was highlighted in the advertisement.
The presence of Montreal Collections was palpable opening night as the organization sponsored the opening night party. This party featured a beer-tasting of Quebec’s famous brewery Unibroue. The popularity of this opening night party cannot be overlooked. Notably, Montreal Collections utilized an effective cross-marketing strategy. Both Unibroue and Montreal Collections raised product awareness in this event thereby increasing the likelihood of future sales.
Keith Kalinowski, Commercial Officer at Quebec’s Chicago office, is responsible for organizing the promotion of Montreal Collections and the beer-tasting. He has been helping Quebec apparel manufacturers access the Midwest market for more than 25 years.
