As a young woman, Theresa McLoud ventured north of the border to earn her medical degree at McGill University in Montreal and stayed to complete her residency in radiology there. This December in Chicago, she is to be one of just three recipients of the prestigious RSNA Gold Medal, awarded by the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) at its 99th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting. Dr. McLoud is to be honored for her work as “one of the foremost educators in her field” and a global promoter of the radiology discipline as past president of RSNA and a professor at Harvard Medical School.
Quebec will also be represented by presenters at scientific sessions, as well as five exhibiting Quebec companies on the expo floor. The exhibitors will feature innovations including sophisticated tools for visualization and analysis of medical images taken from CT and MRI scans, advanced power electronics for x-ray equipment, voice processing and workflow management tools, picture archiving & communication systems (PACS), and technology to help interventional radiologists repair blocked arteries.
