With the theme “Creativity is Everybody’s Business”, the second edition of the C2-MTL conference opened in Montreal on May 21. Referred to as the “Davos of Creativity”, the 3-day event brought together leaders from around the world to explore creative solutions to business challenges. Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Branson spoke at the event; other speakers included Neri Oxman of MIT Media Lab, Arkadi Kuhlman, founding CEO of ING Direct, and designers Philippe Starck, Chris Bangle, and Diane von Furstenberg.
While many participants came from so-called creative and information-based industries, leading service companies and manufacturers also attended. Participants included executives from companies as diverse as Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Adidas Group, Chick-fil-A, QVC, and Marriott Corporation.
The conference was held at The Arsenal, a repurposed 19th century building which formerly housed shipbuilding on the Lachine Canal. Organizers described the proceedings as an “immersive three-day event… designed to inspire right and left brain thinking through a smorgasbord of non-traditional experiences”.
The film director and deep-sea explorer James Cameron (Titanic) will speak at the 2014 edition of C2-MTL, to be held from May 27th-29th. For more information, please visit:
