From April 29th to May 2nd 2013, the Salon International de alimentation (SIAL Canada) in Toronto allowed more than 100 Québec companies in the agri-food industry to meet with buyers from around the world. SIAL Canada is an annual food & beverage trade show event that alternates locations between Toronto (Ontario) and Montréal (Québec) each year. The event is the most important trade show in the agri-food sector in Canada.
This year, the Québec Government Office in Chicago brought two important buyers to the show. One of them was Ari Weinzweig, co-owner of Michigan-based Zingerman’s, who was keen to discover what Canada and Québec had to offer.
Overall, 29 one-on-one meetings (including 18 with Québec manufacturers) were organized for both buyers, and many new business relationships are sure to follow.
On top of these exciting developments, O’ Sole Mio, a Quebec-based fresh pasta company won the export excellence prize by Agri-Food Export Group for its business achievements in foreign markets!
