Described in the press as a $3 million speed-dating event, STIQ’s “Buyer-Supplier Day” achieved its highest number of participants and B2B meetings ever during its 2012 edition, held October 16th just outside of Montréal in Boucherville. The goal of the event, which embodies STIQ’s overall mission, is to give Québec companies specializing in a variety of industrial manufacturing activities a more efficient way to meet potential business partners and stay up to speed with networking and industry trends.
In order to boost the visibility and meeting opportunities for Québec’s skilled pool of manufacturing services and products suppliers, STIQ encourages businesses from the Midwest to participate in this annual event. Since STIQ organizes a meeting schedule customized to fit the needs of each participating buyer, this event is a valuable “one stop shop” way for companies to learn what business opportunities exist for them in Québec. This year, participants such as Acciona Windpower North America, Bombardier Transportation and Vestas Wind Systems A/S were among the 44 buyers, 24 decision makers and 122 suppliers in attendance.
For more information on next year’s Buyer-Supplier Day, be sure to check our website this spring. Also, the Québec Government may be able to cover certain costs for qualifying Midwest buyers that would like to participate in this event next fall (2013).
