Chef Daren Bergeron, Executive Chef of FOU D’ICI in Montréal, was spotted at Chicago Gourmet on September 30. Presented by Bon Appétit magazine, Chicago Gourmet is an annual celebration of food and wine that features around 150 chefs and attracts over 11,000 attendees to Chicago’s Millennium Park. Tourisme Québec was a sponsor of this year’s Chicago Gourmet and arranged Chef Bergeron’s participation.
Chef Bergeron did a live cooking demonstration on the Bon Appétit Culinary Stage, creating a meal so rooted in Québec tradition that he transported all of the ingredients from Montréal himself in his suitcase. On the menu was a beef and tuna filet in a savory sauce, a marriage of Japanese and Québec cuisines that wowed spectators.
Chef Bergeron has done numerous cooking demonstrations including the Sea Food exposition in Boston and attendees always enjoy his presentations. We hope to spot him again in the Midwest soon!
