Élage Diouf at the Old Town School of Folk MusicDélégation du Québec à Chicago Wednesday, April 6, 2022
The Québec Government Office in Chicago is honored to invite you to the upcoming performance of Élage Diouf, who will be at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago on April 6th at 8:30PM!
A master percussionist, Élage Diouf left his home country of Sénégal in 1996 to establish himself in Montréal. His music – a mix of folk, blues, soul, asiko, and world – knows no borders, and he is also well known for his use of Wolof, his native language, when he sings. This unique blend of influences allows him to stand out from other performers – all while remaining true to his roots. His live performances are particularly renowned for his talent to engage the audience to dance and sing with him, and he often invites viewers to take the stage (COVID permitting, of course!).
