The Battery Show 2021
Québec Government Office in Chicago Monday, September 13, 2021 to Thursday, September 16, 2021For the first time in nearly 18 months since the beginning of the pandemic, the Québec Government Office in Chicago participated in a major trade show to promote the strength and innovation of Québec companies in the rapidly growing Electric Vehicle and Battery sectors. Our strong presence at The Battery Show in Novi, Michigan, from September 13 - 16, 2021, was supported by Québec’s Minister of Economy and Innovation, Mr. Pierre Fitzgibbon, who welcomed dozens of Québec visitors and exhibitors to the show to promote stronger relationships between the companies in our territory and those from Québec.
Exhibitors at the show included battery manufacturers, component suppliers, energy storage experts, battery recycling innovators, and other companies in the vehicle electrification arena. Expert panelists from Québec also participated in various seminars to share their research and experiences with attendees. One highlight of the event was a reception dinner hosted by us and the Canadian Consulate of Detroit where important stakeholders were able to learn more from Québec and Canadian suppliers at the trade show.
Several of the exhibitors from Québec worked non-stop during the three-day exhibition discussing their innovative processes and responding to requests for further collaboration in the coming year. Suppliers and manufacturers, such as Calogy Solutions, Lithion Recycling, Termaco, and EVLO Energy Storage, were especially sought after for their necessary technologies in fostering a green future as well as industrial renewal in the Great Lakes region. Other Quebec companies present, including Plastiques Gagnon, Laserax, Nouveau Monde Graphite, Hypertronic, UgoWork, Battelec and Telcodium, made their mark with their own solutions to a more renewable future. By designing safer and greener batteries, these companies are developing an essential part of the effort to decrease carbon emissions and protect our planet’s ecosystems, further highlighting that Québec is a great economic partner in electromobility efforts.
We at the Québec Government Office in Chicago are grateful for this opportunity and are eager to work together in the future with these companies. Our commitment to connect Québec companies with entities in the Midwest has never been more vital in ensuring a fully renewable future, and we are dedicated in fortifying and preserving these relationships in order to protect our planet’s natural resources for generations to come.
