Storytime with Nadine RobertFriday, September 29, 2017 to Saturday, September 30, 2017
As part of the French-Canadian Heritage Week of Michigan, the Quebec Government Office in Chicago is pleased to announce its collaboration with Nadine Robert during her next literary tour in Michigan. Mrs. Robert, currently publisher for the Montréal-based publishing house Comme des Géants, has a particular professional path. Indeed, before making it as a publisher and children’s author, she worked as a video game designer, a screenwriter, and a library facilitator. Her books Joseph Fipps (2013) and Le Vaillant Petit Gorille (2014) are little gems of children’s literature that brilliantly combine learning and fun.
Mrs. Robert will be in Detroit on September 29, 2017, to host a Storytime at the Alliance française of Detroit (in collaboration with the Detroit French School). On that occasion, Mrs. Robert will present her work to a group of preschoolers and will then lead a pedagogical workshop. The next day, Nadine Robert will repeat the same activity at the Detroit Historical Society during its French-Canadian Heritage Day, which outlines the French-Canadian heritage of Michigan’s biggest city. The little ones who will be present will have the chance to enjoy Mrs. Robert’s reading skills and be intellectually stimulated at the same time.
The Quebec Office in Chicago would like to invite families from across Detroit, francophones or francophiles, to come enjoy Nadine Robert’s Storytime, while celebrating Michigan’s connection to le monde francophone.
