In early March, accompanied by representatives of Québec colleges and universities, Minister of Education, Recreation and Sports Michelle Courchesne travelled to Boston to promote cooperation between Québec and New England in the area of higher education.

She met with Jack Wilson, President of the University of Massachusetts, Paul Reville, Massachusetts Secretary of Education, and representatives of the MIT Entrepreneurship Center.
Minister Courchesne took part in an event held to highlight the first-ever Québec film festival at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts. During her address, she stressed the richness and diversity of Québec cinema and the quality of teaching and research in Québec, and spoke about potential areas of collaboration with New England. She also discussed new avenues for collaboration during a conference lunch at University of Massachusetts headquarters, attended by regional university representatives, and at the annual excellence awards ceremony held by the New England Board of Higher Education.
The people from Québec colleges and universities who accompanied Minister Courchesne to Boston were able to meet with representatives of New England institutions of higher learning in targeted fields of interest and expertise.
