Manif d’art, the Québec City Biennial, took advantage of the Armory Show in New York City, one of the world’s leading art fairs, to unveil the program for its fifth edition, slated to get under way in May.
Thirty-five artists from Europe, the United States and Canada will take part in Manif d’art 5, to be held under the theme “Catastrophe? Quelle catastrophe!” (“Disaster? What disaster!”) from May 1 to June 13 in Québec City. The event will feature never-before-displayed and recent works.
The program was unveiled during the Armory Show on March 5 by Executive/Artistic Director Claude Bélanger and Sylvie Fortin, Manic d’art 5 Curator and Editor-in-Chief of the award-winning international contemporary art magazine Art Papers. The Armory Show is the largest event of its type in the United States for artists, gallery owners, collectors, art critics and art lovers. Over 200 exhibitors and 60,000 visitors take part in the fine art fair each year.
The cultural personnel at the Québec government office in New York provided support for the Manif d’art 5 program launch during the Armory Show.
