Premier Jean Charest and the Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade Clément Gignac will take part in the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos late January.
The Forum is expecting close to 2,500 participants, including over 900 leaders from various sectors, as well as heads of state and representatives from world economic powers and emerging economies. The theme for the 2010 edition is Improve the State of the World: Rethink, Redesign, Rebuild.
Mr. Charest will participate in specific workshops and take advantage of his stay to meet with political and business figures. For the Government of Québec, Davos is a unique opportunity to promote Québec as well as to maintain and establish new business relations.
Québec has been taking part in the Davos Economic Forum since 1989.
