The sixth edition of the Montréal International Game Summit (SIJM), a must-attend event for creative professionals and decision makers in the video game industry, will be held on November 16-17.
The event will feature more than 100 high-level seminars and panel discussions devoted to art, business, design, production and technique. This year’s guest speakers include Chris Hecker, a technology specialist; Paul Holden, lead architect at the UK-based Media Molecule studio; and Heather Chaplin, a specialized journalist and professor of journalism at The New School in New York.
A wide range of networking activities, including Business Space, will foster potential alliances. More than 1,500 people attended the 2008 Summit.
Accounting for nearly 6,000 jobs, Québec plays a dominant role within Canada’s video game industry. Some of the industry’s leading companies have launched or will soon be launching operations in Montréal and Québec City, including Electronic Arts, Eidos, Ubisoft and Funcom.
